This course focuses on equipping educators with effective strategies and tools to teach climate change without inducing panic or fear in their students. The course emphasizes the objective of inspiring action and empowering students to make a positive impact on addressing climate change, while also acknowledging the need for emotional well-being and resilience in navigating this complex issue.


During this course, participants will explore innovative pedagogical approaches that promote a balanced understanding of climate change, acknowledging the challenges it presents while emphasizing opportunities for positive change. Teachers will learn how to create a supportive learning environment that encourages open dialogue and empowers students to become active participants in addressing climate issues. Participants will gain practical insights on delivering age-appropriate information, debunking common misconceptions, and promoting critical thinking skills to help students navigate the complexities of climate change.

Day 1: Understanding the Context of Climate Change Education

Engaging in discussions and reflections on personal experiences and challenges in teaching climate change


Day 2: Fostering Empathy and Emotional Intelligence


The role of empathy in climate change education: Developing an understanding of diverse perspectives and experiences

Promoting emotional intelligence and building resilience in students

Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for discussing climate change

Strategies for addressing eco-anxiety and promoting student well-being in the face of climate challenges


Day 3: Engaging Students in Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving

Exploring interdisciplinary approaches for understanding climate change impacts on various fields (e.g., science, economics, social sciences)

Day 5: Reflection, Best Practices, and Personal Toolkit Development


Sharing best practices and success stories from participants' teaching experiences

Reflecting on the challenges and opportunities of teaching climate change with empathy and resilience

Developing a personal toolkit for teaching climate change: Integrating strategies, resources, and approaches learned throughout the course

Group discussions and collaborative reflections on future implementation plans and ongoing professional development

Certificates: Presenting course completion certificates to participants as recognition of their successful completion of the course and Erasmus+ documents 

The 5-day course fee per participant is set at 400€, which provides comprehensive coverage for all aspects of the program. This fee includes the following:
