The "Flipped Classroom with Digital Tools Training for Teachers" Erasmus+ course is a comprehensive professional development opportunity for teachers seeking to enhance their pedagogical practices and offers educators an opportunity to explore alternative instructional methods that prioritize active learning. This course delves into the innovative pedagogical approach known as the Flipped Classroom, where traditional teaching methods are reimagined by flipping the traditional lecture-homework model.

 

Throughout the course, participants will explore the fundamental concepts, theories, and practical implementation strategies related to Flipped Learning. They will gain a deep understanding of how this approach can transform their classrooms into dynamic, student-centered environments that promote active learning, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. The course offers a combination of theoretical sessions, hands-on workshops, collaborative activities, and reflective discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to analyze case studies, share best practices, and develop practical lesson plans that incorporate the flipped learning approach while utilizing ICT as an auxiliary tool.

 

By the end of this course, educators will have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to implement a successful flipped classroom model in their teaching practice. They will be equipped with innovative instructional strategies, enabling them to create an engaging, learner-centered environment that maximizes student achievement and fosters critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

By completing this course, participants will;  

 

  1. Understand the concept and principles of the flipped classroom approach, including its potential benefits for student engagement and learning outcomes.
  2. Explore effective strategies for planning, designing, and implementing flipped lessons that promote active student participation and personalized learning experiences.
  3. Gain proficiency in selecting and utilizing appropriate instructional technologies and ICT tools to support the flipped classroom model.
  4. Acquire skills in creating engaging pre-recorded content, such as video lectures or multimedia resources, for students to access outside of the classroom.
  5. Develop techniques for facilitating interactive and collaborative in-class activities that reinforce and deepen students' understanding of the pre-recorded materials.
  6. Foster the ability to differentiate instruction and provide targeted support to meet the diverse needs of learners in a flipped classroom setting.
  7. Reflect on and evaluate the effectiveness of flipped learning experiences through assessment and feedback mechanisms.
  8. Collaborate with peers to share best practices, exchange ideas, and troubleshoot challenges related to implementing the flipped classroom approach.
  9. Develop a comprehensive action plan for integrating the flipped classroom model into their own teaching practice.

Classes take place Monday to Friday in the Morning.

 

Day 1 - Introduction to the Flipped Classroom Approach

School presentations and Ice breaking activities 

Understanding the fundamentals of the flipped classroom model

Exploring the benefits and challenges of implementing a flipped classroom

Analyzing successful case studies of flipped learning

Activity: Reflective discussion on participants' prior knowledge and experiences with flipped classroom

 

Day 2 - Planning and Designing Flipped Lessons

 

Strategies for effective lesson planning in a flipped classroom

Designing engaging pre-recorded content: Creating video lectures and multimedia resources

Selecting appropriate ICT tools and resources to enhance flipped learning experiences

Activity: Participants develop a lesson plan incorporating flipped learning principles

 

Day 3: Facilitating Active Learning in the Flipped Classroom

 

Promoting collaboration and discussion: Designing interactive in-class activities

Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs in a flipped classroom

Managing student engagement and motivation in the flipped learning environment

Activity: Participants collaborate to design an interactive group activity for a flipped lesson

Technology in flipped classrooms  

Useful apps and tech resources to use in flipped classrooms  

 

Day 4: Assessing and Evaluating Flipped Learning

 

Formative assessment strategies in the flipped classroom

Providing timely feedback to support student learning

Addressing common challenges and troubleshooting strategies in flipped learning

Activity: Participants develop a formative assessment tool for a flipped lesson

 

Day 5 Integration and Implementation of Flipped Learning

 

Leveraging technology for interactive in-class activities: Exploring digital tools and platforms

Classroom management techniques in a flipped classroom setting

Evaluating the impact of flipped learning on student achievement and engagement

Activity: Participants create an action plan for implementing the flipped classroom in their teaching practice

Course Evaluation and Closing Remarks 

Group discussions and collaborative reflections on future implementation plans and ongoing professional development

Certificate of Attendance  

The 5-day course fee per participant is set at 400€, which provides comprehensive coverage for all aspects of the program. This fee includes the following:

  2. Administrative Support: Participants will benefit from administrative assistance before, during, and after the course, ensuring a smooth registration process, timely communication, and any necessary follow-up support.
