Step 1 / 3

Pre Register

We all grow up playing games. Games are fun and lead to rich engagement and motivated players. Gamification and game-based learning both promotes engagement and sustains motivation in learning. In our 5-day Teacher Training Course, we will put emphasis on the differences and similarities between game based learning and gamification in a classroom setting.

Throughout the program, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how games and gamification can engage and motivate learners of all ages. The course focuses on making complex concepts easy to grasp, emphasizing practical application over theory. Participants will discover the principles of designing educational games and gamified learning experiences that can be integrated into their teaching practices. This hands-on approach enables educators to create interactive, enjoyable, and effective lessons that captivate students' interest.

Moreover, the course addresses common challenges and provides solutions for implementing game-based learning and gamification in a variety of educational contexts. By the end of the program, participants will have acquired the tools and knowledge needed to incorporate game elements into their teaching methods, making learning a more interactive and enjoyable process. This course provides the theory behind the practice and lots of practical examples on how to incorporate both strategies in education. Participants will have a chance to develop a project on either how to integrate game-based learning or gamification in their own subjects. Moreover, participants will be encouraged to use game thinking when it comes to bring gamification and game based learning into the classroom.

  1. Understanding Game Design Principles: Participants will grasp the fundamental principles of game design, including elements such as rules, challenges, feedback, and goals, and how these principles can be applied in educational contexts.

  2. Enhanced Learning Engagement: Learners will discover strategies to design and implement engaging learning experiences that capture students' attention and maintain their interest throughout the learning process.

  3. Motivation and Persistence: Participants will gain insights into how gamification and game-based learning can foster intrinsic motivation, encouraging students to persist in their learning journeys.

  4. Practical Application: The course will provide practical knowledge and skills, enabling educators to create their own educational games and gamified lessons that align with their specific teaching objectives.

  5. Assessment and Feedback: Participants will learn how to use assessment and feedback mechanisms within gamified learning environments to monitor progress and provide constructive guidance to students.

  6. Adaptation to Diverse Audiences: Educators will discover how to tailor game-based approaches to suit the needs and preferences of diverse student populations, creating inclusive learning experiences.

  7. Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: The course will promote problem-solving and critical thinking skills by exploring how games encourage learners to analyze, strategize, and make decisions within dynamic contexts.

  8. Continuous Professional Development: The course will equip participants with knowledge and resources to continue exploring and implementing game-based learning and gamification beyond the course, supporting their ongoing professional development.
