The STEAM Essentials course is an engaging Erasmus+ program designed for teachers seeking to enhance their skills in STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). This course aims to empower educators with practical tools and strategies to promote creative learning experiences in the classroom. This program focuses on the fundamental concepts of each STEAM discipline and how they can be integrated for interdisciplinary learning. Teachers will explore the latest research and best practices in the field to create dynamic and innovative lesson plans.

 

Through interactive workshops and collaborative projects, participants will gain hands-on experience in designing STEAM-based activities that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The course also covers the use of technology and digital tools to enhance STEAM learning, as well as how arts and creativity can inspire students' imagination. The course will dive into project-based learning (PBL) methodologies, demonstrating how educators can design and implement STEAM projects that encourage teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Teachers will discover how to nurture a growth mindset in their students, instilling a passion for lifelong learning and adaptability in an ever-changing world.

Understanding STEAM Principles: Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the core principles of STEAM education and its interdisciplinary nature, recognizing the significance of integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics in the teaching and learning process.

  2. Designing STEAM Lesson Plans: Teachers will learn how to design and implement engaging STEAM-based lesson plans and activities that promote creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.

  3. Integrating Arts and Creativity: Educators will explore methods for integrating arts and creativity into STEM subjects, fostering students' imagination and self-expression, and making learning enjoyable and meaningful.

  4. Utilizing Technology in STEAM Education: Participants will discover how to leverage technology and digital tools to enhance STEAM learning experiences, incorporating innovative digital resources into their teaching practices.

  5. Implementing Project-Based Learning: Teachers will learn how to apply project-based learning (PBL) methodologies to design and facilitate STEAM projects that encourage teamwork, communication, and independent exploration of subjects.

  6. Fostering a Growth Mindset: Educators will explore ways to nurture a growth mindset in themselves and their students, fostering a passion for lifelong learning and resilience in the face of challenges.

  7. Reflecting on Teaching Practices: Educators will engage in reflective practices to assess and improve their teaching methodologies, making data-driven decisions to enhance student learning outcomes.

Classes take place Monday to Friday in the morning.

 

Day 1: Introduction to STEAM Education

Day 2: Integrating Arts and Creativity in STEM

Exploring ways to infuse creativity into STEM subjects

Practical strategies for incorporating arts-based activities

Group activity: Creating STEAM lesson plans with artistic elements

 

Day 3: Technology and Digital Tools in STEAM

 

Leveraging technology for enhanced STEAM learning experiences

Introduction to educational apps, software, and online resources

Hands-on session: Exploring STEAM-related digital tools and platforms

 

Day 4: Project-Based Learning in STEAM

 

Understanding the principles of project-based learning (PBL)

Designing STEAM projects that encourage collaboration and critical thinking

Group work: Developing and presenting STEAM PBL projects

 

Day 5: Applying STEAM in Real-World Contexts

 

Connecting STEAM learning to practical applications and real-world scenarios

Cultivating a growth mindset in STEAM education

Reflection and action planning: Integrating STEAM principles into personal teaching practices

Final remarks: Certification of Attendance and Confirmation of Erasmus+ Mobility documents

The 5-day course fee per participant is set at 400€, which provides comprehensive coverage for all aspects of the program. This fee includes the following:

  2. Administrative Support: Participants will benefit from administrative assistance before, during, and after the course, ensuring a smooth registration process, timely communication, and any necessary follow-up support.

  3. Monitoring and Mentoring: The course fee covers monitoring and mentoring services provided by experienced professionals who will guide participants throughout the program, offering personalized support, feedback, and guidance.

  4. Coffee Breaks: Participants will enjoy refreshments during coffee breaks, fostering networking opportunities and providing a relaxed environment for informal discussions and interactions.

  5. Other Inclusions: The fee also covers any additional services or resources required for the successful implementation of the course, ensuring a comprehensive and fulfilling learning experience.
