Drama as an educational tool has the capacity to enhance students’ intercultural understanding, motivation, engagement and communication. Using Drama in Foreign Language Teaching settles a meaningful communication context for listening and speaking, make students use their own imagination, creativity and personalities. Thus, it enables children to use foreign languages in real conversations and expression of their feelings.

In our 5-day teacher training course, we aim to provide necessary tools to overcome the fear of using drama in foreign language teaching. We have designed a practice-led teacher training course related to the ways drama can be used as a pedagogical tool in foreign language teaching. Participants will be introduced various types of drama activities of learning vocabulary; mime, storytelling, role plays, performances of real life situations, etc. Since this training is mostly a practice based one, during the sessions participants are expected to participate actively to the classroom group activities. By the end of the training, participants will design their own lesson plans by incorporating drama and present their work.
