Mindful Teaching: Yoga and Meditation Practices for Teachers is a transformative 5-day course designed to equip educators with the tools and techniques necessary to cultivate mindfulness, well-being, and resilience both personally and professionally. This course is not only about enhancing professional skills but also about nurturing the well-being of educators, recognizing that when teachers prioritize their own self-care and personal growth, they are better equipped to support the holistic development of their students.


The course begins with an exploration of the foundational concepts of mindfulness and its relevance to the teaching profession. Participants will engage in guided meditation sessions, gentle yoga practices, and reflective discussions to deepen their understanding of how these practices can enhance their effectiveness as educators. As the course progresses, participants will learn a variety of yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation practices that can be easily integrated into their daily routines. Emphasis will be placed on developing self-awareness, managing stress, and fostering a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.


Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their personal experiences, share insights with peers, and collaboratively explore creative ways to incorporate mindfulness practices into their teaching practice. By the end of the course, participants will leave with a personalized toolkit of mindfulness practices tailored to their unique needs as teachers. 


  1. Understanding of Mindfulness: Deep understanding of mindfulness principles and its significance in promoting teacher well-being and classroom dynamics.

  2. Proficiency in Yoga and Meditation: Proficiency in basic yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation practices suitable for teachers at all levels.

  3. Integration of Mindfulness into Teaching Practice: Practical strategies for integrating mindfulness practices into daily teaching routines to enhance focus, manage stress, and create a supportive learning environment.

  4. Self-Care and Well-being: Self-care practices and techniques for maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being amidst the demands of teaching.

  5. Enhanced Resilience and Adaptability: Resilience and adaptability through mindfulness practices, enabling teachers to navigate challenges with greater ease and effectiveness.

  6. Creation of Personalized Mindfulness Toolkit: Personalized toolkit of mindfulness practices tailored to individual needs and preferences, ready for immediate implementation in both personal and professional settings.

Lessons will take place from Monday to Friday in the morning. 


Day 1 - Monday: Introduction to Yoga & Meditation

Overview of course objectives and expectations

Introduction to the principles of yoga and meditation for teachers, including the historical background and philosophical foundations.

Discussion on the benefits of yoga and meditation for educators


Day 2 - Tuesday: Yoga & Breathing Techniques for Stress Management


Understanding the connection between breath and emotions

Practice of different pranayama (breathing) techniques

Group discussion on integrating breathing exercises into daily routines

Guided relaxation session using breath awareness

Practical session on basic yoga postures and breathing techniques, with an emphasis on understanding the alignment and purpose of each posture.

Day 3 - Wednesday: Yoga and Meditation in the Curriculum


Practical sessions: yoga & meditation tecniques 

Discussion on the benefits of mindfulness for teachers and students, including stress reduction and improved focus.

Integrating yoga and meditation into academic subjects

Collaborative planning session to develop lesson plans incorporating mindfulness practices

Peer feedback and reflection on lesson plan ideas


Day 4 - Thursday:  Creative Approaches to Mindfulness


Exploration of creative mindfulness activities for the classroom

Incorporating movement and play into mindfulness practices

Group brainstorming session on adapting mindfulness techniques for different age groups

Creating personalized mindfulness resources for teaching


Day 5 - Friday: Cultivating Personal Well-being


Self-care practices for educators

Developing a personal mindfulness toolkit

Goal setting for continued integration of yoga and meditation into daily life

Final group discussion and course evaluation

The 5-day course fee per participant is set at 400€, which provides comprehensive coverage for all aspects of the program. This fee includes the following:

  5. Other Inclusions: The fee also covers any additional services or resources required for the successful implementation of the course, ensuring a comprehensive and fulfilling learning experience.
