Mindful Teaching: Yoga and Meditation Practices for Teachers is a transformative 5-day course designed to equip educators with the tools and techniques necessary to cultivate mindfulness, well-being, and resilience both personally and professionally. This course is not only about enhancing professional skills but also about nurturing the well-being of educators, recognizing that when teachers prioritize their own self-care and personal growth, they are better equipped to support the holistic development of their students.
The course begins with an exploration of the foundational concepts of mindfulness and its relevance to the teaching profession. Participants will engage in guided meditation sessions, gentle yoga practices, and reflective discussions to deepen their understanding of how these practices can enhance their effectiveness as educators. As the course progresses, participants will learn a variety of yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation practices that can be easily integrated into their daily routines. Emphasis will be placed on developing self-awareness, managing stress, and fostering a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.
Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their personal experiences, share insights with peers, and collaboratively explore creative ways to incorporate mindfulness practices into their teaching practice. Day 1 - Monday: Introduction to Yoga & Meditation

Day 3 - Wednesday: Yoga and Meditation in the Curriculum

Discussion on the benefits of mindfulness for teachers and students, including stress reduction and improved focus.
Integrating yoga and meditation into academic subjects
Collaborative planning session to develop lesson plans incorporating mindfulness practices
Peer feedback and reflection on lesson plan ideas
Day 4 - Thursday: Creative Approaches to Mindfulness
Exploration of creative mindfulness activities for the classroom
Incorporating movement and play into mindfulness practices
Group brainstorming session on adapting mindfulness techniques for different age groups

Day 5 - Friday: Cultivating Personal Well-being
