AI Tools for Inclusive Classrooms is a hands-on Erasmus+ KA1 professional development course for educators who want to use artificial intelligence to create truly inclusive learning environments. Participants will explore practical AI applications aligned with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, learning how to differentiate instruction, create accessible materials, and personalise learning pathways.

Throughout the course, educators will gain confidence in selecting and using AI ethically and critically, transforming anxiety about technology into informed, purposeful practice. We address real classroom challenges: generating alternative text formats for struggling readers, breaking down language barriers for multilingual families, creating visual supports for neurodiverse students, and designing collaborative digital projects that promote active citizenship. Participants leave with ready-to-use lesson plans, customised resources, and strategies for engaging families through AI-supported communication.

We focus exclusively on free or low-cost AI tools that work on standard school devices and require minimal technical expertise. Join us to discover how AI can reduce workload while expanding your capacity to meet diverse student needs, strengthen family connections across language divides, and foster inclusive classrooms where every student can thrive.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Use AI tools to create personalized learning materials for students with different learning needs and abilities.
  2. Apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles when selecting and using AI technologies in the classroom.
  3. Generate accessible content including alternative text formats, visual supports, and simplified materials for diverse learners.
  4. Break down language barriers using AI translation and communication tools to connect with multilingual students and families.
  5. Evaluate AI tools critically and ethically, considering student privacy, data safety, and educational appropriateness.
  6. Design collaborative digital projects that promote active citizenship and inclusive participation among all students.
  7. Develop a practical implementation plan to introduce AI tools in their school while building positive attitudes toward educational technology.
  8. Create ready-to-use lesson plans and resources that can be applied immediately in their classrooms on return.
