CLIL stands for Content and Language Integrated Learning. That means students learn the content of any subject in a language that is different from their native language. CLIL has emerged in European education scene as an effective method to empower students’ foreign language skills while covering traditional lesson contents.  The "CLIL Essentials" course is a dynamic and hands-on Erasmus+ professional development program designed for teachers who seek practical expertise in integrating content and language using the CLIL approach. This course equips educators with the fundamental knowledge and practical strategies to effectively integrate content and language in their classrooms using the CLIL approach.

Participants will explore the core principles of CLIL pedagogy, gaining insights into how to seamlessly blend language learning with subject-based instruction. Throughout the course, participants will engage in immersive and practical learning experiences, focusing on real-world applications of CLIL pedagogy. Through interactive workshops, collaborative projects, and classroom simulations, teachers will gain valuable insights into integrating language instruction seamlessly within subject-based lessons. The course will provide a wide range of practical tools, techniques, and resources that participants can immediately apply in their teaching practice. Teachers will have the opportunity to design and refine their own CLIL lesson plans, receiving constructive feedback from experienced trainers and fellow educators. They will explore diverse instructional strategies, authentic materials, and innovative assessment methods that promote active learning and language acquisition.

By the end of the course, teachers will have gained practical expertise in implementing CLIL, enabling them to create engaging and language-rich classrooms. This course equips educators with the tools and confidence to maximize student engagement, foster bilingual proficiency, and establish meaningful cross-curricular connections, ensuring that their CLIL practice is both effective and practical.
