This is a practical and interactive program designed to equip educators with essential Spanish language skills for effective communication in educational settings. This intensive course offers a dynamic learning experience, emphasising hands-on practice and real-world applications to enhance participants' proficiency in Spanish.

 

Throughout the course, you will engage in interactive sessions focused on building foundational language skills. From basic vocabulary and grammar to practical communication strategies, you will immerse themselves in a supportive learning environment where they actively practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish. To enhance real-life conversational skills and cultural understanding, a few sessions will be conducted outside the classroom, in the streets of Barcelona. These sessions provide you with authentic language experiences and the opportunity to explore the rich local culture. Through structured activities, role-plays, and group discussions, you will gain confidence in their ability to communicate effectively in Spanish. Driven by a communicative approach, this course prioritizes practical language use, ensuring that educators acquire the necessary skills to navigate common scenarios encountered in educational settings.

This course is tailored for beginner - A1/A2 level Spanish speakers.

 

The course duration can be extended to two weeks for extended learning opportunities.

  1. Basic Language Proficiency: Participants will develop foundational skills in Spanish, including vocabulary acquisition, grammar comprehension, and sentence structure, enabling them to communicate effectively in common educational scenarios.

  2. Practical Communication Skills: Educators will acquire practical communication skills necessary for interacting with Spanish-speaking students, parents, and colleagues in educational settings. This includes greetings, introductions, giving instructions, and providing basic assistance.

  3. Listening and Comprehension: Through interactive activities and exercises, participants will enhance their listening comprehension skills in Spanish, enabling them to understand spoken language at a beginner level, including simple instructions, questions, and basic conversations.

  4. Speaking Confidence: Participants will gain confidence in speaking Spanish through frequent practice and structured speaking activities. By actively engaging in conversations, role-plays, and group discussions, educators will develop fluency in expressing themselves in simple and common situations.

  5. Reading and Writing Skills: Educators will improve their ability to read and understand simple written texts in Spanish, such as announcements, emails, and basic educational materials. Additionally, participants will practice writing short sentences, messages, and simple descriptions in Spanish.

  6. Cultural Awareness: While the course primarily focuses on language learning, participants will also develop a basic understanding of Hispanic cultures and customs, gaining insight into cultural nuances that can enhance their interactions with Spanish-speaking individuals.

  7. Professional Development: By completing the course, educators will enhance their professional toolkit, gaining valuable skills that enable them to better serve Spanish-speaking students and families, foster cross-cultural understanding, and create inclusive learning environments.

Lessons will take place from Monday to Friday in the morning hours. 

 

Day 1 - Monday: Introduction to Spanish Language

 

Welcome and Course Overview

Introduction to Spanish alphabet and pronunciation

Basic greetings and introductions

Common phrases and expressions

Interactive activities for practicing greetings and introductions

 

Day 2 - Tuesday: Building Vocabulary and Basic Expressions

 

Vocabulary building session 

Practice sessions for using vocabulary in context

Expansion of vocabulary to include everyday objects and actions

Role-playing activities to reinforce vocabulary usage in realistic scenarios

 

Day 3 - Wednesday: Grammar Fundamentals

 

Introduction to basic grammar concepts such as gender, articles, and noun-adjective agreement

Practice exercises for applying grammar rules in simple sentences

Verbs: Present tense conjugation of common verbs (e.g., ser, estar, tener)

Interactive drills and activities to reinforce verb conjugation patterns

 

Day 4 - Thursday: Practical Communication Skills

 

Asking questions and giving directions

Practice sessions for asking and answering common questions 

Providing instructions and commands

Role-playing activities to simulate real-world communication scenarios between educators and students

 

Day 5 - Friday: Putting It All Together: Real-World Scenarios

 

Review of key language concepts covered throughout the week

Group activities and games to reinforce learning in a collaborative setting 

Simulation exercises for common educational scenarios (e.g., parent-teacher conferences, student interactions)

Closing session: Reflection on progress and next steps for continued language learning and application in educational contexts

The 5-day course fee per participant is set at 400€, which provides comprehensive coverage for all aspects of the program. This fee includes the following:
